Weather: sunny

Distance Covered:

Really difficult to get out when the tide was highish, as it was a bit light on the inside, but once you did get out, there was plenty of power to haul you over the waves. Board was a bit big, but needed something floaty to get out.

Later on, the wind picked up a notch or three, & I was somewhat overpowered with 4.7m. By that time, I was through, and we called it a (hard) day.

Lots of rescue excitement - lifeboats (breaking down), coastguard helicopter, 3 people rescued, one of whom was highly upset about it as he lost all his kit. One other guy lost a brand new Quatro board & rig when he was picked up. Expensive day.

The upset guy drove round to Ogmore to look for his kit. All he found was his trashed sail - trashed when the lifeboat ran over it). His board (JP), boom, mast all gone to some thieving gits.

The BWA guys were out in force! Checkout the photos here - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1824134400967.2097779.1168448482&l =5ae61b3891 (copy & paste the entire url)
